CREF at the Vatican for Pope Leo XIV’s Meeting with the Presidents of Public Research Institutions

On October 3, the President of CREF, Angela Bracco, attended the audience granted by Pope Leo XIV to the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, and the Presidents of the main national research institutions.

The meeting represented an important moment of recognition for the Italian scientific community and an opportunity to reaffirm research as a tool for knowledge and progress.

It was also a significant call to responsibility for the scientific community in the face of the major challenges of our time, emphasising the value of science as a tool for dialogue, cooperation, and building the future—a reflection on the role of research and knowledge in service to the individual, society, and the common good, in light of the Encyclical Magnifica Humanitas.
