third mission

The CREF was born with a dual soul: a research centre and a historical museum. Its aim is to preserve and disseminate the memory of Enrico Fermi and to promote the dissemination and communication of scientific culture.

Ludovica Dieli

I have been a PhD student at Sapienza and Cref since November 2022.

My interest in the physics of non-linear waves, such as shock waves, rogue waves and solitons, combined with my curiosity about gravitation and General Relativity, led me to develop in my master’s thesis a theoretical model of analogous gravity based on the hypothesis of a bosonic nature of dark matter.

At the beginning of my doctorate, I moved towards the experimental side of non-linear physics, working in the non-linear photonics laboratory at Sapienza University. I am currently investigating the phenomenology of multidimensional nonlinear systems through an optics experiment that involves the manipulation of a laser beam and its propagation in a photorefractive crystal, supported by numerical simulations.
