CREF promotes original and high-impact lines of research, based on physical methods, but with a strong interdisciplinary character and in relation to the main problems of the modern knowledge society.
The CREF was born with a dual soul: a research centre and a historical museum. Its aim is to preserve and disseminate the memory of Enrico Fermi and to promote the dissemination and communication of scientific culture.

I am a Researcher at the Enrico Fermi Research Center (CREF).
I am an expert in developing theoretical/phenomenological models for interpreting precision X-ray spectroscopy data in Quantum Mechanics and Nuclear Physics.
I am the National INFN responsible for the Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle (VIP) experiment, which established the strongest experimental limits on models of violation of spin-statistics for electrons and on models of dynamic collapse of the wave function.
I am responsible for the data analysis of the AMADEUS experiment and a member of the SIDDHARTA-2 collaborations at the DAΦNE accelerator in Italy, E15, E17, E45, E57, E72 at the J-PARC in Japan. I work on “pionization” models to study the structure of the nuclear surface and the statistical mechanics of self-gravitating systems, investigating the role of “strangeness” in dark matter halos.
In my career, I have published over 180 articles in peer-reviewed journals, held more than 40 invited talks, seminars, lectures or colloquia, and organized 15 international conferences or workshops. I am the editor of two special issues for the magazines “Symmetry” and “J” and am very active in scientific dissemination.
I am currently responsible for the CREF project “Open Problems in Quantum Mechanics”.
