CREF promotes original and high-impact lines of research, based on physical methods, but with a strong interdisciplinary character and in relation to the main problems of the modern knowledge society.
The CREF was born with a dual soul: a research centre and a historical museum. Its aim is to preserve and disseminate the memory of Enrico Fermi and to promote the dissemination and communication of scientific culture.
Higher education and projects for young researchers
The Enrico Fermi Research Center had the pleasure of hosting the meeting of the National Scientific Committee 3 (CSN3) of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), the institution that coordinates the research activities of the Institute in the field of nuclear physics.
The Member of the Executive Board, Diego Bettoni opened the proceedings of the first day together with Paolo Giubellino, President of the Commission. The morning continued with the discussion of financial requests related to research activities.
In the afternoon, the meeting continued in an open session dedicated to the report on some of the ongoing INFN experiments; the session was opened by the President of CREF, Prof. Angela Bracco, who greeted and welcomed the commission she previously chaired.
The second day – focused, in its first part, on the discussion of ongoing experiments at JLab and the VQR (Research Quality Assessment) – concluded in an open session with the “Young Researchers’ Space,” an important opportunity for discussion and exchange dedicated to the new generations of researchers.
The hosting of this important meeting confirms CREF’s role as a meeting place for the national and international scientific community.
