third mission

The CREF was born with a dual soul: a research centre and a historical museum. Its aim is to preserve and disseminate the memory of Enrico Fermi and to promote the dissemination and communication of scientific culture.

Nicola Bortolotti

I graduated in 2022 from Sapienza University under the supervision of Professor Giovanni Montani with a thesis concerning the primordial generation of cosmological structures and gravitational waves.

I am currently doing a PhD at Sapienza and CREF under the supervision of Dr Kristian Piscicchia, which is concerned with a phenomenological investigation of quantum gravity and spontaneous quantum collapse effects. The project aims to provide a complete treatment that covers the derivation of the theoretical models, the development of the experiment’s design, and the analysis of the collected data.

My main interests concern foundational problems of quantum mechanics, gravity, and cosmology.
