Lorenzo Tortora

As of November 2024, I am a research fellow at CREF. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Physics from La Sapienza University in Rome. Subsequently, I obtained a Ph.D. in Materials Science after a research period focused on the study of high-entropy condensed systems and their use in the renewable energy market under the guidance of Naurang L. Saini. During my doctoral studies, I spent six months in Barcelona to refine my research, earning me the Doctor Europaeus title.

My research has shifted to the field of complex systems, with a particular interest in the branch of economic complexity, where I am currently working. My current research focuses on the study of economic, social, and environmental inequalities from the perspective of the “Green Transition,” along with the study of the impact of AI on the labor market in the context of technological transition.
