Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Joint Seminar CREF/Sony CSL

Wednesday, March 13th
3 pm – 4 pm
Abstract
In this talk, we initially provide a brief perspective on the development of the field of Artificial Intelligence with a focus on robots as physical agents. We then address three research areas in artificial intelligence and robotics that we are currently investigating: semantic mapping (i.e., the ability of the robot to build a useful representation of the surrounding environment), robot soccer players, and intelligent robots for precision agriculture. In the final part of the talk, we briefly summarize the developments of the Sony Rome AI team in the framework of the Joint Initiative CREF/Sony.
