third mission

The CREF was born with a dual soul: a research centre and a historical museum. Its aim is to preserve and disseminate the memory of Enrico Fermi and to promote the dissemination and communication of scientific culture.

Enrico Fenoaltea

I have been a research fellow at CREF since January 2024. I graduated in physics at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, specializing in Condensed Matter Theory. At the end of 2023, I completed my PhD in physics in Fribourg, Switzerland, under the supervision of Yi-Cheng Zhang, working on network science from a theoretical and applied point of view.

From a theoretical point of view, I studied the properties of bipartite networks and game theoretical network models (in particular, variants of the stable matching problem).

As for applications, I have studied a wide range of phenomena through network science, such as the formation of social groups or the spread of epidemics. The project I am working on at CREF concerns using the economic complexity framework to study the impact of artificial intelligence in the world of work.
